Leadership Worcester engages promising new professionals in Greater Worcester’s civic life. The city of Worcester and its surrounding communities are in the midst of an economic and social renaissance. Worcester is a center for commerce and education with a growing innovation industry. The City boasts quality neighborhoods, diverse cultural offerings and a strong quality of life. It is an ideal place to begin and build a career. Leadership Worcester works with a strong network of community partners to build personal and community success.


Leadership Worcester offers training and skill development to participants, connecting them with key players. It creates a network of thinkers and doers who can move the region and each other forward. The program engages a new generation of leaders on critical public policy issues, including economic development, education, public health, culture, public safety, and sustainability. Participants are outstanding local professionals with demonstrated leadership potential. The program operates from September through May, including an overnight retreat and monthly daylong sessions. Participants will:

  • Gain a first-hand understanding and experience of critical issues facing Greater Worcester
  • Build skills that enhance professional development and contribute to civic advancement
  • Meet current leaders in business and government as well as other up-and-coming talent
  • Engage on key topics and propose solutions to fundamental public challenges
  • Have fun while expanding their professional network.


The application for the Class of 2019 will open March 16. The deadline to submit a complete application is May 21, 2018.
