Leadership Worcester class of 2018 - 2019

WHO we are

Leadership Worcester seeks motivated individuals who aspire to take an active leadership role in Worcester and the surrounding towns and are interested in honing and learning new leadership skills for the long-term benefit of the community.

We expect the Leadership Worcester Class of 2018 - 2019 to represent all sectors of the community. You may be an employee of a Worcester area business, nonprofit organization, education, health care, or government agency; a civic volunteer; or live in the Worcester area.

Leadership Worcester welcomes a new generation of up-and-coming leaders and established leaders. The program will emphasize these leadership attributes: adaptability and flexibility with change, an excitement for new opportunities, motivation and initiation, planfulness and organizational skills, decisiveness, facilitation skills, and acceptance and respect for multiple and diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

We seek applicants who have:

  • A proven record of leadership capacity
  • An eagerness to have a personal impact, in collaboration with others
  • A passion and commitment to making Worcester a leading, livable city
  • A commitment to remain involved in the City/surrounding area for at least five years

The sessions take place between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm one Thursday a month, from October to May, plus two evening events. An overnight orientation retreat will be held in September in Worcester. It is mandatory that you are able to attend each of the scheduled sessions in their entirety.

At the conclusion of the program there is an expectation that you will assume leadership in contributing to positive change locally by chairing a nonprofit board, running for an elected office, joining forces with a significant community change initiative, or initiating new ways of creating positive change.

Submit your application electronically by end of day on May 21, 2018.
